China Radio International (CRI) and Greek 93.2 Happy Radio channel officially launched on Tuesday a partnership for a daily ten-hour transmission of programs about China and Chinese culture in Greece.
Starting from June 1 this year, the state-run Chinese radio broadcaster begun providing the Greek channel with a wide range of informative and entertainment material for the production of programming broadcast in Greek for Attica prefecture's five million residents every day.
CRI Deputy Director-General Wang Yunpeng and Happy Radio General Director Dimitris Dimitriou attended an inaugural ceremony in Athens and officially launched the service.
"We believe that the new service will serve as an important bridge to strengthen understanding and friendship between the two countries," Wang said.
"Joining the voices of two peoples of ancient civilizations with such rich culture, with the aid of Global Broadcasting Media Management (GBMM), we hope to offer to Greek listeners a new experience and widen bilateral ties," said Dimitriou.
