Nguyen Dang Tien, Vice Head of the National Assembly Deputies’s Affairs, has been appointed as the new Radio Voice of Vietnam (VOV) General Director to replace Vu Van Hien, who will now hold the post of Vice Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Theoretical Council.
Party and government leaders announced their decision to nominate a new General Director for VOV on May 30.
In his speech at the announcement ceremony, Dinh The Huynh, Politburo member and Secretary of the Party Central Committee praised VOV’s and Mr Hien’s efforts to fulfill all tasks entrusted to them by the Party and State, and contribute to VOV becoming an important and powerful mouthpiece for the Party, State and Government.
Mr Hien said that during his nine years as VOV General Director, he effectively accomplished his assigned tasks to promote VOV’s deeper international integration under the leadership of the Party and by virtue of the support of the Government and more than 2,000 VOV reporters and artists.
Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Politburo member, Minister and Chairman of the Government Office said he hopes Nguyen Dang Tien will continue what VOV staff have achieved over the past years to elevate VOV’s status in the region and the world.
