At first glance, HCJB Global’s two newest staff members may appear to have little in common. Jon Fugler is a 55-year-old grandpa from California with a lifetime career in Christian radio. Michael Springer, 37, is a relatively new father from Florida with a pair of toddlers and a burgeoning career in the secular business world.
Upon closer inspection, however, the two men have much in common. They both have a love for foreign missions and an affinity for HCJB Global that dates back for decades; both began serving at the organization’s Ministry Service Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., within the last two months; both were inspired by specific books to apply with HCJB Global; both serve in the same department—advancement; and they even share the same title, director of donor representation. Jon concentrates on high-level donors and Michael on mid-level ones.

Jon gave his life to Christ in high school after his football coach invited him to hear a college coach speak at a Sunday-night church service. “I went expecting to hear about football, but he preached on John 3 and what it meant to be born again,” he related. “That night I went forward. Being an athlete, performance was big. I really had to learn that God had accepted me for who I was, not by how I performed.”
