KBS hosted the semi-final round judging of the International Emmy Awards
for the categories of Telenovela and Arts Programming on 30 August in
Seoul.
Twenty-one TV professionals from 14 organisations, such
as NHK-Japan, CCTV-China, TRT-Turkey and RTHK-Hong Kong, representing
seven countries, took part in selecting the best programmes.
The
International Emmy Awards are one of the most important awards
established by the International Academy of Television Arts and
Sciences, a membership-based organisation comprising over 500 leading
media institutions and individuals from over 50 countries.
KBS previously hosted the semi-final judging of the International Emmy Awards in 2002 and 2005.
KBS in the running within 10 categories, with programmes such as Don't Cry for Me Sudan and The Slave Hunter.
The Emmy awards will be presented at a gala ceremony in New York in November.
