The Euranet Awards : Reporting on EU citizenship

The topic of this year´s Euranet Awards is the rights of European citizens. Euranet will offer a selected number of candidates the opportunity to travel to the European Parliament in Brussels on 8-10 November and record the material for a 4 to 5-minute radio report. Euranet will organise travel to Brussels and hotel accommodation, and, if necessary, provide audio recording equipment. 

Timeframe:
  • 19 October: Deadline for applications.
  • 8-10 November: The successful candidates gather audio material in Brussels.
  • 20 November: Deadline for candidates to submit the final version of their reports.
  • December: The results are announced.
The overall winner will be given a four-week internship at the relevant radio station during 2012, with a grant to cover travel and accommodation expenses. It will be possible to extend the internship by another two weeks if the candidate is able to work in a second language covered by that station. The winner and four runners-up will also receive an iPad.

How to apply:
Send an email to awards@euranet.eu, including:
  • Your CV,
  • An audio piece that demonstrates your ability to produce a radio report (an mp3 file of approx.1-2 minutes).
  • A detailed written proposal for the report you would like to make on the topic of European citizens' rights. If you are selected, this is the report you will be making in Brussels.
  • Details of language skills. Please state the working language in which you want to produce your radio report, if selected.
  • Choose the radio station from the following list at which you would like to do an internship, if selected. (NB: The station has to cover your chosen working language.). Read more
