BBC Russian App for iPhone and iPod touch now available

Russian-speaking iPhone and iPod touch users around the world have instant access to the latest news from the BBC by downloading the new BBC Russian App, available now on the App Store.

With its simple, easy to use design, the BBC Russian App offers the most recent and popular news stories from bbcrussian.com, as well as in-depth analysis and features on major stories of the day. In addition to the latest updates and video reports, users can share content via email and social networks.

The BBC Russian App can also be personalised to suit individual news needs. From World, Russian News, UK News, Business, Sport, Society, Science & Technology and Multimedia, users can choose categories of most interest to them, adding, re-ordering or removing them from the home screen. For convenience, BBC Russian offers offline access to the top three stories from each category, and the app's video experience is accessible over Wi-Fi and 3G connections.

James Montgomery, Controller of Digital and Technology, BBC Global News, says: "We are delighted to be launching this app for Russian-speakers who want to use and share our news on the go with their iPhone or iPod touch, giving them access to a wealth of news content in the way that works best for them."

BBC Russian editor, Sarah Gibson, adds: "We continue to engage with our audiences on a number of different platforms. With world attention again turning to events in Russia, our app offers Russian-speaking iPhone and iPod touch users another way of keeping in touch with the BBC’s impartial and high-quality reporting.”
