The EBU's Director General will be among those participating in a Forum scheduled for 14/15 May 2012 in Geneva. The purpose of the Forum is to examine the forces that will shape our media world in five, ten, and fifteen years hence. The Forum will take an 'interdisciplinary' look, without technical jargon, at trends in programme content, technology, and economics. It will try to understand where we will be, and what we need to do, to be in the right place at the right time.
Many distinguished futurologists will take part from Warner Bros, Sony, NHK, Cisco, BSkyB, ATSC, Ericson, Singapore media authority, Technicolor, VRT, EBU, and IBM. The Forum is organised by the SMPTE in collaboration with the EBU, and will be of value to senior managers who need to understand their companies future options.
