Today  the European Broadcasting Union will hold a 'Workshop on media freedom  in Azerbaijan' at its headquarters, in Geneva. The event brings together  Azeri government figures, the Council of Europe, and Azeri and  international human rights groups face to face for unprecedented talks  on bringing progress on media freedom in Azerbaijan.
The Azeri Government will be represented by Mr. Ali Hasanov, presidential adviser and Head of the Department of Social Political Affairs. Executives from Azeri broadcaster Ictimai will also attend.
Other confirmed participants include senior representatives from the Council of Europe, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, the International Federation of Journalists, Sing for Democracy, and several other relevant groups.
