ABU Regional workshop strengthens broadcasting management

More than 30 managers and senior technical staff from 12 Asia-Pacific nations have gathered in Kuala Lumpur for a regional workshop on broadcasting management, organised by ABU Technology.

The three-day ABU regional workshop is being conducted with support from the Hoso Bunka Foundation of Japan, targeted at senior personnel and executives from production and engineering disciplines in radio and television organisations in developing countries in the Asia-Pacific.

The workshop focuses on management of broadcast operations as a whole, specially looking at operational management issues both in production and technical facilities.

It will also look into topics such as project management, strategic planning and program scheduling and will include hands-on exercises which allowed participants to try techniques in leadership and management practices in human resource management,

Management experts will also help the participants from 18 regional organisations develop a strategic plan for the future of the broadcasting industry and conduct group discussions on management ethics and issues in broadcast environments.
