Changes to top management in Romanian public service broadcasters

The Romanian Parliament recently validated Mr.Ovidiu Miculescu as the new  President Director General of the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation.

Mr.Ovidiu Miculescu has over 20 years experience in media and has occupied executive positions both in Romanian public Television as well as in private televisions and radio channels.

The new PDG declared that the modernization of the public radio station and resolving the issue of coverage throughout the Romanian territory were among his priorities.

The position of President Director General of the the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation became vacant after the Romanian Parliament accepted the request submitted Friday, June 29, by Mr. András István Demeter to be exempted from the responsibilities of President of the Administration Board.

TV

TVR, Romanian's public television, has a new President Director General, Claudiu SĂFTOIU. Mr SĂFTOIU took up his functions on the 3rd of July 2012.

Claudiu Săftoiu is a media and political affairs communication expert. He started his work, as a journalist, in 1994. Since then, he has worked in different media organizations and has authored political articles for various Romanian publications.

Claudiu Săftoiu graduated from the University of Bucharest in 1994 from the Faculty of Philology (Romanian-French section). In 2001 he received a Masters from the Human Resources and Communication Program at the Faculty of Journalism.
