Geneva, 13 July 2012 - The new Heads of TV, Radio and Strategy will complete the managerial team of the Media department. The EBU Media Department consolidates the activities of TV, Radio, News and Training. The department is headed by Annika Nyberg Frankenhaeuser who took up her position in February this year.
Bettina Brinkmann has been appointed Head of TV, Christian Vogg Head of Radio and Nicoletta Iacobacci Head of Strategy. Their appointments will be effective as from 1 September 2012.

The Head of Strategy is a newly formed position which will focus on media developments from a content perspective. The Head of Strategy will be very much involved in the EBU Media Lab projects, and will share its findings with EBU Members through seminars and workshops.

Head of TV
Bettina Brinkmann, has been with the EBU since 2005, first as Head of Formats and Special Events and then Head of EBU Arts, Entertainment & Fiction. Prior to that, Bettina was manager for international childrens' co-productions at ZDF-Enterprises and Head of Development at ZDF. Bettina also worked as a film acquisition and planning manager for VOX and RTL in Germany and as a producer and consultant for several international media and music companies in the US, Canada and the UAE.
Head of Radio
Christian Vogg comes from EBU German Member WDR. He joined WDR as an editor, reporter and presenter, working mainly for radio. He then became senior advisor for the Director General, and was also involved in the company's new digital strategy. Christian also lead the project to create the new online audio and video portal WDR Mediathek, including a video portal for the young radio programme 1LIVE. In his last position with WDR, he was in charge of the organization's metadata-related projects.

Since 2006 Nicoletta Iacobacci has been responsible for the EBU's Crossmedia and Multiplatform activities. Before joining the EBU, Nicoletta worked for the Italian broadcaster RAI creating its first website, and initiating the RAI TV interactive/digital content factory in Italy. Prior to that she worked for RAI in the US as a producer covering North and Central America. Nicoletta has also been giving university courses on Multiplatform Distribution and Interactive storytelling.
