Community radio stations are being invited to enter this year’s Radio Academy Nations and Regions Awards – and be in with a chance of making it all the way to next year’s Sony Awards.
These awards celebrate programming that caters for the needs of a local or regional UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man audience and provide an opportunity for stations with a TSA under 300,000 to be recognised in their branch and qualify for free entry into the 2013 Sony Radio Academy Awards Station of the Year (under 300,000) category.
Judges will be seeking to reward stations that can demonstrate how they have excelled across the year and provided essential listening for their target audience.
Judging and awards presentations are organised by The Radio Academy’s Branches and will take place before the end of the year. Each branch will award one Nations & Regions Award to the station that the judges feel demonstrates the most consistently outstanding output.
Past community radio winners include Resonance FM in London, Spark FM in Sunderland, Radio Teesdale and Merseyside station KCC Live.
Entry costs £24 (£20 + VAT) and the deadline for receipt of entries is 5pm on Thursday 4th October 2012. More information is available at the Radio Academy website.
