The ABU’s Technology Webinars are about to begin a new season online and participants are urged to register early to take full advantage of the comprehensive program on offer.
Following last year’s successful webinar series, the ABU Technology Department’s webinar festival on technical topics is back for 2012 and will run from 15 August to 14 September.
Director of ABU Technology Sharad Sadhu says last year saw a record number of session participants join the webinars that ran for a month.
"With more than 2000 participants on-line, the response was overwhelming. We are happy to continue this on-line effort and bring the training to the door-step of our members, partners and others in the industry."
The webinars will provide information on new technologies and developments in broadcasting. It is open to all ABU members and those in the industry who are interested in broadcast technologies and their applications.
The subjects for the sessions have been chosen from the workshops and conference sessions of the ABU Digital Broadcast Symposium held in March. Each webinar will be around 90 minutes long, starting with a presentation by an expert on the subject matter followed by a question and answer session.
“One of our colleagues from the ABU Technology department will be available to answer questions,” says Mr Sadhu.
The webinars will be held every weekday from 15 August to 14 September, from 9:30 to 11 am, repeated from 3 to 4:30 pm, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore time.
Participants can register at https://www3.gotomeeting.com/register/857098534 and will receive an email with information they need to join the webinar.
Topics will include: Green technologies and infrastructure planning; DVB-T2 technology, implementation and case studies; advanced audio technologies and digital radio implementation and other selected topics in technology.
