As KBS completed its digital switchover, President & CEO Gil
Hwan-young has assembled the executive staff to lead KBS into 2013 and
beyond.
Mr Gil was appointed to the top KBS post in November 2012, when the
former KBS President & CEO completed his three-year term. The new
executive arrangement took shape at the close of last year.
The executive team now consists of four new Executive Managing
Directors: Mr Moun Chang-Suk, Audience Relations; Mr Jang Seon-Hwang,
Content; Mr Lee Jong-Ok, New Media & Technology; and Ms Ryu
Hyun-Soon, Policy Planning. Mr Lee Hwa-Seob will retain his role of
Executive Managing Director of News & Sports.
During an interview with the new KBS leaders, Mr. Moun Chang-suk said
that KBS needs to reinforce its public services for the audience in the
face of strong competitions in the changing media environment. Mr. Lee
Jong-ok, agreeing with Mr. Moun on the change of media landscape,
reaffirmed his efforts to make headways in the areas of new media
through the development of new digital services such as N-Screen and
OHTV. Meanwhile, Mr. Jang Seong-hwan and Ms. Ryu Hyun-soon both
emphasized the importance of quality content.
