February 7, 2013, A new FM radio station backed by South African
film producer Anant Singh is expected to be launched in Cape Town as
early as next month.

Singh, would not confirm the date of the launch, but told the Cape Argus
an announcement would be made in the next few days.
The bilingual station is expected
to broadcast in Afrikaans 60 percent of the time and in English the rest
of the time, with an equal split on talk and music shows. It is
expected 50 percent of the music is to be local.
Anant Singh, a film producer from
Durban, is not new to Cape Town or radio. He is chairman of Cape Town
Film studios and has served as chairman and board member of East Coast
Radio, a community radio service in Durban. Singh also served as board
member of Radio Oranje (OFM).
Singh and his team declined to divulge the new radio station’s name.
