China’s Urumqi TV builds its first HD OB Van

Urumqi TV (UTV), a broadcaster in China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, has equipped its new 10-channel HD OB van with an extensive deployment of Snell equipment.

Beijing-based systems integrator Sanitec supplied UTV with a Kahuna multi-format production switcher, Pyxis router, Kudos Plus TBS800 SD/HD/3Gbps format converter, and IQ Modular infrastructure. These advanced systems, which represent UTV’s most significant broadcast equipment investment to date, will support high-quality live broadcasting of news, sports events, and various entertainment shows.

“Working with Sanitec, we evaluated leading international broadcast equipment suppliers and products, and determined that Snell solutions best met our requirements for power, reliability, performance and ensuring high-quality image and audio transmission,” said Mr. Wu Erpu, Director of Technical Center at UTV.
