The government of the Kingdom of Tonga has licensed two new
television services as well as an additional FM radio service in the
island capital of Kuku’alofa.
The additional services were allocated to local business families
with existing licenses. The license holders have not set a date to go
on air but have announced it would be sometime soon after their set-up
is completed, mic.gov.to reports.
The services are expected to be free-to-air and encompass general
entertainment programmes as well as those relating to education, sport,
and civil society.
