Why do I still hear presenters and radio ads quoting the ‘www’ prefix to a web site address?

Why do I still hear presenters and radio ads quoting the ‘www’ prefix to a web site address?

Surely EVERYONE using the web today KNOWS that, what’s more you don’t need to enter the letters into most browsers. It’s a waste of airtime and eliminating it from an ad script would result in extra time for a more detailed account of the service or product (admittedly not by much, but I dare say the client might be more impressed).

Many TV ads no longer use the pre-fix, so why does radio seem to be lagging behind?

As for presenters still quoting the 3 w’s, are they out of touch or just enjoying the sound of their own voice? Oooooh!!
