French Culture Minister, Frédéric Mitterand, names Ignasi Guardans Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres

The French Culture Minister, Frédéric Mittérand, has made the EBU Director of Public Affairs and Member Relations, Ignasi Guardans, a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters in its honours list.

Mr Guardans, who before joining the EBU in April, had been Director General of the Spanish National Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA), where he was very active in promoting bilateral Franco-Spanish and multilateral film co-productions, as well as in supporting cultural diversity, said he was extremely honoured to receive the distinction.

The ministerial Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, one of the four Ministerial Orders of France, was created in 1957 to reward people who distinguish themselves through their literary or artistic creativity, or for their contribution to the promotion of art and literature in France and beyond.
