Radio Voice of Vietnam held a meeting at its headquarters on July 6 to review its operations in the first half of the year.
Participants in the meeting included VOV chief Nguyen Dang Tien, Deputy Foreign Minister Doan Xuan Hung, and former VOV Director General Vu Van Hien.
At the meeting, VOV Deputy Director General Dao Duy Hua reported that VOV has always proactively stuck to the orientations given by the Government, the Central Commission for Communication and Education, and the Ministry of Information and Communications.
The national broadcaster also launched many live reports of such big events as National Assembly and People’s Council elections through all its platforms including radio channels, TV, and online, which received positive feedback, Mr Hua said.
In addition, VOV had tried to research into and apply many modern technologies, including digitizing radio programs.
In the first half of the year, VOV successfully acted as President of CIRTEF and then transferred the presidency to the French national broadcasting station. It also succeeded in hosting the eighth Asia Media Summit in Hanoi.
However, there is still much for VOV to do, such as increasing its journalistic proactiveness.
The report pointed out the plans for the second half of the year: further investing in technology and content innovation in VOV’s TV channel, VOV Traffic channel, and News Centre and its online strategy.
At the meeting, certificates of merit from the Prime Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs were presented to collectives and individuals with excellent achievements in recent times.
