President Choummaly Saynasone of Laos visited China Radio International on Wednesday to attend a ceremony marking the fifth anniversary of CRI Vientiane FM 93.0 - CRI's radio service in Laos which he and visiting Chinese President Hu Jintao officially launched on November 19, 2006.
Choummaly, who is also the General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, also attended a CRI exhibition on the development of China's overseas broadcasting undertakings that commenced 70 years ago when the broadcaster started operation.
In the company of Wang Gengnian, Director-general of CRI, Choummaly also signed a message to celebrate the 70th birthday of CRI.
Today, CRI has 62 overseas radio services. As the only overseas broadcaster in China, it produces more than 1,200 hours of program in 41 languages every day, which air in more than 60 countries and regions around the world.
