The Vice Chairman of the Danang Municipal People’s Committee, Vo Duy Khuong, has praised VOV for its communication efforts that have helped boost the central coastal city's development.
Mr Khuong made this remark during a September 17 working session with a senior delegation from VOV that visited Danang to discuss VOV's communication activities within the city and the surrounding areas.
During the meeting, Khuong also said he wanted more effective coordination between agencies and VOV representatives in the region.
VOV Director General Nguyen Dang Tien briefed Danang authorities on the development of VOV, which now operates in four types of media: radio, TV, print and the internet.
The national broadcaster now airs more than 200 hours of radio programs each day, covering up to 99.5 percent of the country, Tien said.

It also produces radio programs in a number of ethnic minority and foreign languages, serving as a link between the Party and State and compatriots across the country and the world.
VOV has also broadcast across the entire East Sea, serving Vietnamese citizens, fishermen and naval soldiers.
