BBC to cut 2,000 jobs but no services

As part of its need to cut 20% of its spending over the next five years, the BBC is expected to cut over 2,000 jobs, but will not close any services.

Financial Times says the plans will be unveiled by BBC director general Mark Thompson tomorrow as part of a ‘Delivering Quality First’ initiative.

Despite rumours that services such as radio stations will be cut, two people who have seen the proposals have reported that no services will be closed.

However, BBC has cut some TV shows, such as Doctor Who Confidential.
