The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union and Korean Broadcasting System signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for cooperation in developing broadcasting technologies. The MOU was signed on 16 February at the ABU headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The document outlines the specific areas in which KBS will support the ABU to use advanced digital technology to deliver better services to all of its diverse members. The ABU members range from world leading broadcasters to struggling public service broadcasters in developing countries and small Pacific islands in the region.
Developing new services will help the ABU to fulfill its mandate to assist members in their development and deliver high quality content to their audiences in increasingly fragmented markets.
The project was initiated during the visit in January to Kuala Lumpur the ABU President and President and CEO of KBS Dr. Kim In-Kyu.
