The deadline for nominations for the 2012 ABU Engineering Awards has been extended to the end of this month.
The ABU’s Director of Technology, Sharad Sadhu, says the extension for the ABU Broadcast Engineering Excellence Award, the ABU Industry Engineering Excellence Award and the ABU Green Broadcasting Award will provide more time for members and industry partners to send their nominations.
“Our members and industry partners are very enthusiastic about the awards and we receive a good number of nominations,” he says. “This generates keen competition among candidates and the fact that this is the inaugural year for the green broadcasting award - the first such award in the Asia-Pacific - is exciting.”
The two other excellence awards were instituted in 2003 and all three will be judged by a panel of three eminent international judges based on work done in the respective organisations and in the industry in the region. Two of the awards carry additional incentives such as cash and visits to research facilities.
The 2012 awards will be presented at the ABU General Assembly in Seoul, Korea, in October.
