More than $1.4 million in Content Development grants is available for community radio stations to support new and existing programs.
Stations are being encouraged to apply in this grants round as the Community Broadcasting Foundation is not planning for a second grant round for this category this year.
There are two types of Content Development grants: Content-related salaries and Program applications.
Stations can apply for staff support positions that contribute across the station or a group of programs, such as a Talks Coordinator, Program Manager or Community Access Coordinator. In the program category stations can apply for the production of one-off programs, segments, short series or regular weekly programs that meet criteria such as: Local community current affairs, special interest or magazine-style programs.
While the CBF expects most applications to be from individual stations the committee is very keen to hear about any programs that demonstrate collaboration between one or more stations or between stations and local community services.
Grants are expected to range from $5,000 to $30,000 depending on the regularity and complexity of your program.
The application form and guidelines for Content Development grants are available to community stations via the CBF’s website, www.cbf.com.au, or contact the Grants Administrator Jon King, email jking@cbf.com.au.
Applications close on Monday 17 September 2012
