Eutelsat has announced
that it plans to deploy a new generation satellite with advanced
functions to further enhance performance, flexibility and security.
The Eutelsat 8 West B satellite designed
by European industry will be launched in 2015. It will be located at
the 7/8° West video neighbourhood with a reach of over 30 million homes.
The enhancements have been added by
together by Thales Alenia Space, European Space Agency (ESA) and CNES.
The enhancements include the mitigation of the effects of interference,
an increase in the number of active channels and expand options for
repositioning satellites.
