French broadcast regulator CSA has delivered 106 digital radio licences
for Paris, Marseille and Nice, Les Echos reports. The stations have two
months to form multiplexes, the companies tasked with providing
broadcasting services, and the stations will go on air in the autumn.
The outgoing CSA member in charge of digital radio, Rachid Arhab, said
that the body issued a call for candidates, made its selection and
delivered licences. The new stations include internet radio station
provider Goom Radio, the radio version of TV channel Euronews, Trace
group, which publishes several TV theme channels, and digital versions
of existing FM stations such as Oui Collector and FG Chic.
