of World Radio Day earlier this week. The Ministry of Information
Communication and Technology (MICT) together with the United Nations
System in Namibia as well as scores of radio, media personalities and
children came together this week at the UN plaza in Katutura to
celebrate World Radio Day. The theme for the day “Radio in our everyday
lives” was carried out throughout a special outside broadcast in the
afternoon. World Radio Day was proposed by UNESCO in November 2011 and
endorsed by the UN General Assembly to be celebrated on 13 February each
year.
