KATHMANDU: The World Radio Day is being observed today by organising a variety of programmes.
On the occasion, the Community Radio Broadcasters' Association is hosting a special function in the capital today.
The major objective of observing the Radio Day is to promote radio as a reliable means of information, improve cooperation among the radio broadcasters and promote people's access to information and freedom of expression.
February 13 is World Radio Day proclaimed by UNESCO, which calls upon all countries to celebrate the day by planning activities in partnership with regional, national and international broadcasters, non-governmental organisations, the media and the public.
