A release from the university said today that Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari presented the award to the Programme Executive of Puduvai Vaani Saleema Rabiyath at the concluding day of the third National Community Radio Sammelan held in New Delhi recently.

Vice-Chancellor of Pondicherry University Chandra Krishnamoorthy and Director of Studies M. Ramadoss were among those who greeted the crew of the Puduvai Vaani at a function in the university yesterday.

The public sector broadcaster was started in 2008 at the university to enable the people residing in the 20 km radius of coverage to know of various details of the programmes and plans covering their welfare.
