The Hindu Business Line Report on Feb 16 that ‘Puduvai Vaani’, the five-year-old Community Radio Station of
Pondicherry Central University has bagged the first prize at the
national level for its thematic performance entitled ‘Ungalai Thedi’ (in
search of you).
A release from the university said today that Information and
Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari presented the award to the Programme
Executive of Puduvai Vaani Saleema Rabiyath at the concluding day of
the third National Community Radio Sammelan held in New Delhi recently.
Vice-Chancellor of Pondicherry University Chandra Krishnamoorthy and
Director of Studies M. Ramadoss were among those who greeted the crew of
the Puduvai Vaani at a function in the university yesterday.
The public sector broadcaster was started in 2008 at the university to
enable the people residing in the 20 km radius of coverage to know of
various details of the programmes and plans covering their welfare.
