Today’s quiz question was read on the 10 April – that week, the preliminary results of the presidential run-off in Haiti were released … and I asked you to send in the name of the candidate who won in the preliminaries.
Who was that? Michel Martelly. Also known as “Sweet Micky”, he’s a former cabaret singer known for stripping, and for ridiculing the government in satirical stage performances. He won with just under 68 per cent of the vote, beating former first lady Mirlande Manigat.

And the winners are:
From Kolkata, India, Mrs. Priyanka Chakroborty, and from Murshidibad, Mr. Paul Soumita – he’s a member of the Metali Listener’s Club. From South Dartmouth Massachusetts in the U-S, Richard Golen, and from the Northwest region of Cameroon, Father Steve Wara. Last but certainly not least, Mr. Mogire Machuki, of Kissi, Kenya.
