The new station, Merge 104.8, will reflect the diverse cultures and tastes of Oman’s population, Sabco said in a statement. Reaching different segments of society, the radio station will offer a mix of music, culture and fun, to deliver rich content and served with a fresh local flavour with live daily shows from 6 am, it added.
A mix of local and international presenters will spur listeners to ‘tune in to the mix’ with the latest music and entertainment presented in a fun, informal style that will appeal to both traditional and contemporary cultures, the statement said.
“The months of speculation are over. The new radio concept mixes traditional Arabic values with modern society introducing a fresh new feel to Oman’s discerning listeners, he added. “We are continuously seeking out innovative ways to introduce dynamic new products and brands into the market,” Mr Abutaha said. “Our success is driven by our strong creativity and desire for excellence, and we believe that this latest radio venture will be the most talked about media launch in years. Merge 104.8 promises to engage while at the same time being respectful to our society and adding value at all times.”
Nadim Atieh, station manager, said: “Our content has been carefully designed to stay true to our promise, ensuring that our audience gets a rich and flavourful experience”.
Merge 104.8, which will also be available through web streaming, will use a combination of online and social media, as well as outdoor advertising and print media, to communicate details of its launch, according to the statement.
