Bauer Radio’s Group MD Dee Ford is the latest name confirmed to appear at this year’s Radio Festival.
We’re told the special one-to-one session about her life and work will see her explain her strategies for success, share her hopes for the future and give an insight into her long career in the business.
Dee joined Emap in 1994 as MD of Rock FM, becoming Group MD of Emap Performance in 1999. She became Group MD of the expanded Emap Radio Network when the division separated from performance in 2005.
Radio Academy Chief Executive John Myers said: “We are delighted that Dee has agreed to speak this year as she is well known for trying to avoid the spotlight. In a year where she has won a number of awards including The Gold Award at the Arqiva’s earlier this year, it will allow our audience to spend some time with one of the most successful radio executives in the country. It will be a fun session.”
This year’s Radio Festival is back at The Lowry Theatre in Salford Quays this autumn and includes appearances from American radio presenter Elvis Duran, BBC Director General Mark Thompson and Radio 2 presenters Bob Harris and Steve Wright.
