Peterborough launch football radio station

An online radio station operated by Peterborough United Football Club is launching this week.

The Posh Live, named after the nick-name of the club, starts ‘broadcasting’ at 1pm Thursday with a live phone-in.

The station will air non-stop music when not providing live programmes, giving it a 24 hour presence. The football club is operating the station and is hoping players will present shows in the near future.

Posh Live Presenter Neil Gilby told the club website: “This is a very exciting time for the football club and for the fans. This is the only radio station dedicated to Peterborough United with 24/7 access to everyone connected to the club. The sky is the limit.”

The only Ofcom-licenced football club radio station operating on terrestrial radio is Radio Rovers, which has been operating on a special season-long RSL licence at Blackburn Rovers since 1993. The station, on 1404AM, on on-air each home match day.
