China’s state-owned radio, China Radio International, has launched a
24 hours FM service in Nuku’alofa in Tonga, offering programmes in
English and Chinese.
The Chinese operator is to work in partnership with the Tonga Broadcasting Commission.
Matangi Tonga reports the Chinese Ambassador, Wang Donghua, saying
the launch is a natural evolution of the friendly relations and
cooperation between Tonga and China.
He says radio and television are very important channels for promoting mutual cooperation.
