Host of Hitz FM's morning show, Kwame
Sakyiamah, known in showbiz circles as Lexis Bill, has quit hosting the
show. After landing a nomination in the Best Morning Show Host category
at the last edition of the Radio and Television Personality Awards,
Kwame Sakyiamah was set to compete with some of Ghana's finest breakfast
show hosts.
He was able to manage a good constituency of morning radio listeners
who were not interested in political morning shows since his show was an
entertainment magazine show which often featured relationship problems
with solutions from counselors.
Kwame announced his exit on the show on Friday and since then little
has been heard about his next destination. It is unclear whether he will
stay with the Multimedia Group which is the largest media conglomerate
in Ghana and has other stations which could accommodate this talent or
he is leaving to another station which could have lured him out of the
group.
Kwame announced his decision to drop his alias, Lexis Bill, last
month, and concentrate on building his brand around his real name, Kwame
Sakyiamah. The rebranding process, therefore, could be affected on
another radio station, since Kwame Sakyiamah confirmed to us that he is
no longer with Hitz FM. His twitter and Facebook pages were flooded with
comments of dissatisfaction and sadness when he announced his exit but
he implored his fans to stay in touch to know his next move.
