CBeebies favourites go on a walkabout with a brand new app from BBC Worldwide

Preschoolers around the world can now take a little bit of CBeebies on all their adventures, thanks to a brand new app from BBC Worldwide – CBeebies On The Go

Developed by Tag Apps to complement the international preschool channel, CBeebies On The Go is a brightly coloured world full of games and activities, and home to many of the best-loved characters from the channel, like Charlie and Lola, 3rd & Bird, Numberjacks and the Teletubbies

The free app is available to download from the App StoreSM, for iPhone®, iPod touch® and iPad™ in Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka and South Korea.

A whole range of features are just waiting to be discovered, such as matching pairs picture games for the Teletubbies and Charlie and Lola, a Kerwhizz jigsaw game, a 3rd & Bird tap-the-fruit challenge, and many short video clips from popular shows.

Wholly intuitive and with simple touch controls designed specifically for young fingers, CBeebies On The Go gives children and their carers an even more interactive CBeebies experience, allowing them to immerse themselves in enchanting on-screen worlds.

Henrietta Hurford-Jones, Director of CBeebies Investment at BBC Worldwide Channels said of the new app: "CBeebies On The Go is a delightful accompaniment to the CBeebies channel. Kids all over the world share a natural curiosity and sense of fun, so the app is a wonderful way to make new discoveries with familiar friends.

"The CBeebies brand is trusted by parents and carers internationally, so we’ve worked hard to build a product that upholds the core values of learning through play. This new kids’ app is a first for the Channels business, so the learnings from this pilot phase will help shape any future plans to roll CBeebies On The Go out to new territories and different devices."

On TV, CBeebies reaches now over 53 million homes outside the UK, through BBC Worldwide's network of channels and branded programme blocks. Local schedules are available in seven key markets – the Nordic region, Poland, Africa, Australia, Asia and India, as well as the Latin American & US Hispanic market.
