Dutch Music Monday: 15 August

It’s clearance week on our RNW Music Monday Dutch Top 10 – two long-running records, Get Spanish by the Jeugd van Tegenwoordig and Afscheid by Glennis Grace, have dropped off the chart after a ten-week stay.

Another long runner, Racoon’s No Mercy, adds another week to what is now an unprecedented 11-week run at the top of our top ten, while B-Yentl occupies two positions in our list.

This week's Dutch Music Monday Top 10 (week beginning 15 August):
1 (1) No mercy – Racoon (11 wks)
2 (3) Cry (Just a little) – Bingo Players (10 wks)
3 (2) I’m a cliché – Anouk (7 wks)
4 (5) Wish I could – Miss Montreal (4 wks)

Notes about this week's new entries

10. All over – Ben Saunders
The Voice of Holland-winner Ben Saunders adds another hit to his long list of best selling songs this week, as All Over enters our chart at number ten. He won the TV competition late last year, but has already chalked up three chart toppers from his debut album You thought you knew me by now.

8. Taking back my heart / 7. Let me rule the world – B-Yentl
This is a first: never before in the 11-week history of our RNW Music Monday Dutch Top Ten has an artist scored two hits simultaneously. Dutch/Surinamese singer B-Yentl (born Marjorie Lammerts) does so with her two most recent singles. Let me rule the world returns after a brief 1-week run two weeks ago, while Taking back my heart – originally released in May – resurfaces in the Dutch charts following the popularity of Let me rule the world. She could change that title into Let me rule the RNW Music Monday Top 10 by now!
